Coram Deo -
I hope you all enjoyed using the Advent Book of Daily Liturgy this last month to cultivate time with God during this busy time of year. It is our desire for you to continue to spend time with God each day through prayer and the reading/meditating on his Word.
On Sunday, January 1st, we will be handing out copies of our Bible Reading Plan that will take you through God’s Word every day in 2012. It is attached to this post if you want to have it on your computer or other device such as iPhone or iPad.
Also, if you like having specific prayers to pray throughout the day, I recommend using the book Valley of Vision. Valley of Vision is a collection of Puritan prayers taken from the works of men like John Bunyan and Charles Haddon Spurgeon. Attached is a daily prayer plan called Walking Through The Valley of Vision from author/pastor Joe Thorn.
For the more “tech” people who would rather look at a screen than paper, I recommend You Version’s Bible app. This app includes reading plans, Bible audio and community tools that allow interaction with the Scripture and accountability.
If you aren’t using these tools, what is your plan for cultivating intimacy with God heading into 2012? Please share by commenting below…
Mike, do we offer Valley of Vision at our resource table?
Yes, we will have it stocked at the Resource Table. It is also available on Amazon for pretty cheap.
The attachment links don’t seem to be working . .
Mike, try right-clicking the link and click “save as…”
I updated the post with some information on Bible apps for your digital devices.
I have tried the links. They don’t seem to be working for me. But I am going to download the Olive Tee. Thank you for that.
I tried the right-click before and didn’t work but now it does. Thanks!
I love “Valley of Vision” and have used it before. But what I like about this is the Prayer Schedule. Thanks so much! Developing the habit of the advent schedule of prayer was very meaningful to me. Using it during my lunch break gave a great start to the rest of my work day.
